The year 2011

Happy new year!

I hope you all had a wonderful christmas and a fun new years eve!

This year all my focus online will be on Heads Up No limit Cash games. And my goal will simply be to crush the games.  I can’t put it any clearer than that.

And the next few months will show me if I am on the right path, so I am really looking forward to see my progress in a few months.

And with regards to live poker I plan to play a few EPT’s and I will probably end up going to Las Vegas again.

My first live tournament this year will be the same as last year - The EPT Copenhagen. And last year I did great at that tournament. I ended up number 30th out of 450 I think, so that was great. But I still hope to do better this year, so fingers crossed.

And just a small advertisement. I have written a short strategy segment about Heads Up play, and it will be uploaded soon. And as soon as it has been uploaded, I will make sure to make a HUGE link on this site, so that you can all get to read it. :)

And please let me know what you think about it. Because if you like it, I might write a new one in the future. So let me know!

Untill next time I wish you good luck at the tables on Everest Poker, and feel free to come bye if you see me sitting alone on the Heads Up tables, so we can chat a bit.

Quick trip to the 3LT in Vienna

Hi

I was only in Vienna for two days. Because I chose to go home the day after my bust out. And I busted out late on day 1 unfortunately.

I think I played pretty well in general, so not much I could do. I will just give a recap of a few hands I played.

Level 1:

A person opens in Early position to 350 and I call behind with 9,9 and then a third person who had been really Loose and agressive squeezes behind to 1000 and I am the only caller. I call because 9,9 is way ahead of a Loose/agressive persons hand range.

Flop comes Q,Q,4 and I C/C a bet of 1200, which I think is pretty standard. Turn is a 10, which is good for his range. Since he now has a gutshot if he has A,K for example and there is a chance that there will be two higher pairs on the board than mine.  I C/C a bet of 2500 because I think that he will bet the Turn with a big part of his range, which includes alot of semi-bluffs in my opinion. But I plan to fold the River if he bets again, because I don’t think that he will 3.barrel Bluff against me on a board like this.

River is an 8, so the board is now Q,Q,4,10,8 and I have 9,9. And he now bets 5700, and I decide after some thinking to fold, because of my analyze.

I think I played it alright, though I think I could fold the Turn against a person like him, if I do NOT plan to call the River, because he seemed “crazy” enough to wanna Bluff the River as well, if he sensed any weakness.

(He told me later he had Q,Q, so that he had four of a kind. I don’t know if he was lying, but I don’t think so).

So that hand cost me around 30% of my chips. But I grinded my way back up to around 22k when I won a nice sized pot.

I open UTG to 900 with K,K, CO calls and now a CRAZY guy in the small blind squeezes to 3750 (He had been telling the whole table how he likes to gamble and that he just wanna go home etc. etc. etc.). And while I am “thinking” (not really thinking) about shoving, he keeps telling me that he promises to gamble with me, and so on… I then shove and he folds after like 20 seconds – Well played dude!

10 minutes later it goes down. One person limps for 300, the Crazy guy limps on the Button, small blind completes and I look down into two red Aces in the Big Blind (THANK YOU :) ). I make it 1400 and the first guy folds and within two seconds (MAXIMUM)  the crazy guy has shoved his whole stack of 19k into the pot and I INSTA HAPPY CALLS and shows my red Aces. He says ” You got me” and shows a red king and a black 8. I am now an 88% favourite to win a pot of almost two times the average with A,A against K,8o. The Flop comes 9,7,5 and I am thinking. “Do NOT do it”, Turn 7 (Nice card), River 6 – NOOOOOOOOO!

And the Crazy guy ships the pot and I am left with 7k or something. I managed to double up, wth K,Q against 6,6, but later after a couple of limpers I shove 3,3 and gets called by 7,7 and I don’t hit any miracle cards unfortunately.

So there wasn’t much I could do :/

Eventhough it didn’t go as planned I liked the tournament. I think it was a well arranged poker tournament by Everest Poker, so all is good and I would like to play it again. Especially if I can be at tables with guys that shoves K,8o and stuff :)

My plans for the next long time is just to grind alot of Heads Up Cash games online and hopefully continue to crush and develop my game.

So watch out for me on the tables on Everest Poker and come and say hi on the tables if you see me sitting there.

Home again and 3LT Grand Finale tomorrow

Hi

Sorry I haven’t updated in a while, but I have been really busy.

A few weeks ago I played the SPT Grand Finale, which you all know. But things didn’t go my way. Which will be easy to see in this blog.

I played 3 important hands in the Tournament.

The first one:

I Open A,Ko in Early position, two players call, the Small Blind Re-raises and I re-re-raise to take the pot down right there. And then suddenly the first caller Shoves all-in. So now I have raised to 4800 and another person has went all-in for 28.000. I thought for a minute or so and decided that he was NOT Bluffing. He told me later he had Kings, so I made a good fold, and I believed him, since he also came from Denmark.

Second important hand: Early position raises, I call with J,J, Small Blind re-raises, 1st person folds and I shove all-in and get insta called by A,A, and no luck.

3 important hand: One person raises to 2400 and I shove all-in for 15.000 with A,Qs and get called by 6,6. Board 3,Q,10,5,6.

And I am out. Good game :)

I also played the EPT Barcelona, where things went well for day 1. And after day 1 A and B I was actually number 20 out of 450 left, so things were looking bright. But unfortunately I didn’t win any hands on day two at all, so I busted out right before the money :/

But I have now gotten new confidence, which means that I am ready to play the Grand Finale of the 3LT tomorrow in Vienna. And I really think this will be the tournament for me, so hopefully I can write a more cheerful update next time :)

On the bright side though. Things are working out very well for me online and I continue to crush the Heads Up games. So in general I can’t complain. And I might show a graph of my results soon, eventhough it usually means bad luck.

Untill next time. Good luck at the tables!

SPT Finale and EPT Barcelona

Hi

There is less than a week till the SPT Finale starts and I am really looking forward to it. I think it is going to be awesome. I plan  to plan to play the Main Event and hopefully I will reach the Final Table in it. but if not, there is two other side events that I can play. So lets see how it goes.

But I really have a good feeling about the Main Event, I think I will get far, so fingers crossed :)

And when I am done at the SPT I am going to the EPT Barcelona to play the Main Event. I am really looking forward to my trip to Spain, because I am hoping that the weather in Spain is just a bit better then here in Denmark, haha.

And here is a cool video for the SPT Finale that you should all check out, and then after you have watched it. Then login to Everest Poker and qualify :)

November Plans

Hi all

I hope you are all doing well.

I just wanna make a short post about my plans here in November.

For the first two weks of November (untill the 17th), I am going to grind ALOT of Heads Up online, and hopefully I will continue my winning streak. At the moment I am crushing so hard and I fear the day when it stops and it begins going the other way. But there is not much you can do, other than just keep grinding and playing your A-game. And I feel like I play my a-game more often than ever before. I think the reason for this is that I have become better at not Tilting and my Heads Up play is just SO much better than it was a few months ago.

And I will probably post a picture of my winnings since I began playing only Heads Up soon.

That is why my plan for the first two weeks is to just continue grinding and playing my A-game.

And after two weeks I am going to the SPT Finale, which I am looking very much forward to. And hopefully when I have won the tournament, I will continue to the EPT Barcelona, to show everybody the logo of Everest Poker and LIVE THE DREAM TEAM! I think it is incredible how fast this year has gone, with all the live tournaments and experiences around the world, which I have gotten thanks to Everest Poker and their Live the Dream Promotion.

And for this I will always be thankful.

And to give something back, I plan to win the SPT Finale, so I can really show the logo! :)

Good luck  at the tables!

And untill next time, you can enjoy a cool song from David Guetta and see if you can find something cool 50 seconds into the video :)

Heads Up for the win!

At the moment I love playing poker. I think it is incredibly fun and I get challenged everytime I play. The reason for this is that I mostly play Heads Up against other regulars – Like 95% of the time I play, it is against another regular. And I actually like playing more against regulars, than against fish. I think the reason for this is that, eventhough my bb/100 is probably higher against fish, I think my hourly rate is higher against regulars, and at the same time, I get much more challenged by the regulars. Which makes the socalled battles much more fun.

The good thing about regulars, is that some of them wants to play multible tables, which is alot of fun, and when you have found their weaknesses and therebye know how and where to exploit them, your hourly rate can go through the roof. And you get a chance to re-adjust when they adjust to you, which opens up for a complete change in how you approach the game.

This is why I like playing poker at the moment, especially against regulars to the game.

Vacation

I just got home from a vacation on Malta a few days ago. It was very nice.

It is the first time in 2-3 years that I travelled and it didn’t have anytihng to do with poker, which was nice. Not that I don’t like travelling around the world playing poker. It is just nice to relax sometimes and get away for a few days.

And I must say it worked. I am really refreshed and ready to play both online and live again. So the next week is all about grinding Heads Up Cash online and then I want to begin playing a few online MTT’s as well, so I can be ready for the Final stop of the Spanish Poker Tour.

I am looking SO much forward to the final, since I think it will be a blast and we are going to have a lot of fun. Both in the tournament and just hanging out with the Everest Crew and players. So if you get the chance. QUALIFY!

http://www.thespanishpokertour.es/en/how-to-qualify

I think that was it. Good luck at the tables and lets crush the opponents :D

End of September and my future plans

September for me was all about grinding alot of poker online, and I succeeded. I managed to play more than 30k hands, which is alot for me. And at the same time, the results was great.

99% of the hands played are from NL Heads Up and like 95% of the hands are against regulars. Which means that I have played against alot of different regs and my Heads Up game has become alot better. Before I continue I just want to show you my graph.

It shows that I played just around 32.000 hands and I won almost 39 Buy-ins, which makes it a pretty good winrate. Though I have to say I think I am running a bit hot, but the short breakeven stretch (13k hands) should make up for some of my run-goodness – Or atleast I hope it does. My plan for the coming months are to play a few more Live Tournaments. I am especially looking forward to the SPT and 3LT Finals, where I really hope to make a deep run. Because I really think I deserve to run just a bit good in Live Tournaments soon. And when I am not travelling I will of course work on my game and try to become an even better Heads Up player than I am now, so that one day in the future I will be able to play on the real high stakes against some of the other brilliant players.

Untill then I just wanna enjoy the sight of this graph and try to play my best.

Later!

SPT Valencia!

I really wish I could be in Valencia for the Spanish Poker Tour. The structure of the tournament is awesome, and you can play alot of deepstacked poker, before the blinds get high. And secondly the field isn’t filled with a lot of Pro poker players, so you often have a decent edge in the tournament.

And of course it is always nice to be in Spain. The weather is much more nice than here in Denmark and it is always fun hanging out with the Live the Dream Team and the Everest Poker crew.

For those of you that are interested in the SPT Valencia, but can’t be there, I have a live stream link from the Tounament. So you can follow your friends or the players from the Live the Dream team, or whoever you want to see :)
